The Ulagalla Walawwa Resort is built on the site of an old ‘Wallauwa’, or an ancestral home belonging to aristocracy, and is set amidst the Kirapparan village in the ancient kingdom of Anuradhapura. The ancient capital city of Anuradhapura is 20 km from the property and it is extremely convenient to access the other Cultural Triangle and historic sites from Ulagalla Resort

Accommodation

Ulagalla Resort consists of 25 elegantly laid out luxury chalets scattered over an unrestricted area of 58 acres. Most of the chalets overlook the reservoir while some overlook the flourishing paddy cultivation. The paddy fields give guests an opportunity to experience the traditions of paddy cultivation in Sri Lanka first-hand. Each chalet consists of a floor area of 800 sq. feet which include a separate living area. The chalets are furnished with elegance and comfort while combining state-of-the-art amenities and each chalet offers a tranquil courtyard and private plunge pool. There is a huge four poster bed, audio visual and communication facilities. The resort also has a Presidential Suite for more discerning customers.

Facilities

The property boasts a 30 meter fresh water swimming pool and electric cars to shuttle guests within the vast compound.

An Ayurvedic Spa is available to rejuvenate the mind while an extensive Fitness Centre is available to rejuvenate the body. Recreational facilities such as horse riding, archery, billiards, canoe rides and many others are available.  Go horseback riding through the fields for a unique experience at Ulagalla Resort.

The eco-friendly resort was made using green building materials. The resort did not cut down any trees during construction and even planted 1000 root-balled trees on the property. Fresh organic fruits and vegetables are available to guests.
