Itinerary

Day 1: NEGOMBO

Meet, Greet and you will be transferred to your hotel in Negombo. Rest of the afternoon at leisure to relax and venture out to try Negombo’s numerous dining options.

Day 2:  NEGOMBO > KANDY

Today after breakfast your tour of Sri Lanka begins with an epic journey through the island’s rural villages take you to the last heritage kingdom Kandy. En-route you will stop at Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, the home to the largest group of orphaned elephants in the world. The sight of herds of elephants splashing and playing in a river has charmed countless visitors.

On reaching Kandy check in at the hotel, in the late evening your driver will take you to the temple where a sacred tooth relic of the Lord Buddha is enshrined. We strongly recommend you to participate in the evening pooja for a magical experience.

Day 3:  ACTIVITIES IN KANDY

Today you will discover Kandy with a city tour including a walk around the lake, bazaars of Kandy and the royal family’s botanical garden and the orchid house. After lunch at a local restaurant you are free to explore Kandy at your own pace or take a dip in the hotels swimming pool or take a boat ride on the Mahaweli River.

Day 4:  KANDY > HABARANA

After breakfast an epic journey through the island’s rural villages take you to the ancient capital Cultural Triangle to visit some of the county’s fascinating sites.

Check in at the hotel and later explore the beautiful and decorative ancient Golden Cave temples at Dambulla which consist more than 150 statues and about 1500 paintings in 5 separate caves in a gigantic boulder.

Day 5:  ACTIVITIES IN HABARANA

After an early breakfast head to the Sigirya and climb this amazing rock fortress, the ancient rock fortress and palace of Sigiriya is one of the seven World Heritage Sites of Sri Lanka.

Afternoon travel to Polonnaruwa and explore the ruins of this royal medieval capital of Sri Lanka. The 3 huge rock-cut images of Buddha are the highlights and one of the world’s great artistic treasures.

Day’s 6 to 10:  HABARANA > EAST COAST BEACH

After breakfast a drive through the beautiful landscaped takes you to the east coast of Sri Lanka, a place where you find some of the best beaches in the world. You will spend a good 5 nights at a resort of your choice. There are many activities available such as whale watching, snorkelling, sailing, Hindu temples, natural hot spring wells to name a few.

You can add any number of beach nights you want; alternatively we will add 5 nights on the beach after the island wide tour of Sri Lanka to make a 2 weeks holiday in Sri Lanka.

Day 11:  EAST COAST > COLOMBO

Today you will be picked up from your hotel after breakfast and drive down to the commercial capital of Sri Lanka. On reaching Colombo treat yourself to a nice spa massage.

Late evening talk a casual walk on the streets of Colombo and enjoy some of the authentic street foods or head to a pub for a drink.

Day 12:  DEPARTURE

Today you will be dropped at the airport for your return journey
